This is both a general and specific term. It may be derived from the ancient earth word "sidewalk". In general, the walk, is any flat portion of a metto regardless of elevation or length. Specifically, the walk, is the phrase most commonly used to describe the global network of lanes that lie at the shared borders of all mettos. There are always flights of stairs, ramps, slides, rails, or other architectural features which connect the walk to other areas. In the entire city there is not a single inaccessible area, however the scale and complexity of the landscape can be very much like a maze or intricate 3D puzzle, sometimes even with interactive elements, therefore it may take a long time and a great deal of determination to reach certain exclusive areas.
